How to think about the limits

A device seat is one approved Windows PC.
A Google account slot is one approved Google account connected under the customer license.
Source-folder mappings live underneath those approved accounts and do not have their own separate per-folder fee.
Deleting a local file still does not delete the matching Google Drive file.

Do I need Google Drive for desktop?

No. Drive Folder Sync connects through Google's APIs and can upload directly to Google Drive without installing Google Drive for desktop.

What if I need more than 5 Google accounts?

Contact Norris Stand before rollout. The current launch model hard-stops at 5 Google accounts per license so the product is not abused or overshared.
